Hanukkah Sameach

To all my Jewish and Israeli friends and colleagues, and readers of this website. I do not have a menorah, but in this time of gathering darkness, every little candle throws light that will see us through. This candle will burn only for a short time, but tomorrow night, there shall be two candles burning for a short time...

To those locked up in holes in the ground, held captive by the darkest souls let loose upon this earth, this candle is for you. To those starting this desperately sad Hanukkah without the candlelight dancing in your loved ones' eyes, and glowing on their cheeks, and shimmering off their smiling teeth, this candle is for you. To the soldiers who cannot be with their families on this night, this candle is for you.

It is not a lot of light, but it is light. That is the point. May you all be safe.
