Give the Qur'an to Jews!

The cause of Jew-killing has nothing to do with being Jewish and everything to do with Jew-hatred. To say otherwise is to say that Jews would still be killed, even if there were no Jew-hatred.

Give the Qur'an to Jews!

Part 2

The Jews’ refusal/inability to see Islam for what it is

Since 7 October, we have heard much about how Hamas is not Palestinian, of how Hamas oppresses Palestinians, of how Palestinians are innocent of the massacre, of how extra-special care must be taken to not harm Palestinians (as if they are the ones who have just been massacred), and of how operational requirements in the fight against Hamas must take second place to the humanitarian well-being of the Palestinians.

It is as if no one noticed: one, that Palestinians elected Hamas to power by a landslide; two, Palestinian parents freely choose to send their children to Hamas summer camps for terrorist training, all focussed on the killing of Jews; three, Palestinians were high as kites on news of the grotesque brutalities carried out in their name on 7 October; four, Palestinians danced in the streets of Gaza and of Judea and Samaria, lavishly doling out sweets to passers-by in their elation at the massacre, rape and murder of Jews; five, Palestinians, including Palestinian children, turned out in their droves to kick, beat, spit at, swear at and mock the captured Jews that Hamas paraded through the streets of Gaza; six, the Palestinian Authority directed all mosques to remind their congregations, Palestinians, of their Islamic duty to kill every single last Jew on earth; seven, diaspora Palestinians (as well as Muslims and their kafir acolytes everywhere) took to the streets in a global show of force having understood the moment of “all religion is for Allah” to be at hand; and eight, Muslims threw off their veil of taqiyya as they, led by their jihad vanguard, the Palestinians, drove around the Jewish neighbourhoods of major Western cities announcing over megaphones their intention to rape Jewish women and calling their fellow Muslims to get on with it.

There can be no question of Palestinian innocence. The barbarism of Hamas is the barbarism of the Palestinians. For Jews to be concerned about a Palestinian humanitarian crisis is not only absurd, it is Stockholm syndrome on steroids. And where Palestinian culpability is conceded, those who do so come up against an imponderable, for under no circumstances must they even think of tying any of this back to Islam. The Jews cannot be seen to go after a religion. They will not sink to such depths. That is how others behave. They will remain civilised …to their mortal end. This, to paraphrase Ze'ev Jabotinsky, is not civilisation; this is idiocy. The Jews who realise this and are prepared to do what it takes to save themselves are scourged by their fellows. Those who counsel delusion continue to abound.

The Rector of Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Professor Chaim Hames, a historian of religious thought, had recorded himself standing in the charred ruins of a house in Kibbutz Be’eri that Muslims had swept through in a great orgy of jihad mass-murder on 7 October. You may have noticed a little boy’s toy car, a Volkswagen, no less, still defiantly hanging on where the Muslims had put it to the torch, but you would be forgiven for never realising that it was Muslims who had done this, and in compliance with the commandments of their religion, as laid out in the Qur’an and the hadith. Prof. Hames was standing, in his own words, “in the middle of the killing fields, where 1400 Israeli civilians were tortured, murdered, and butchered, amongst them dozens of children just because they were Jews.” Professor Hames goes on to say:

Academia must be able to distinguish between truth and falsehoods. …For those of us who seek hard evidence, the murderers themselves documented their barbaric acts with their GoPro cameras. They did these inhuman and despicable disease because it is their obligation according to Article Seven of the Hamas Covenant from 1988. No equivocation, no ambiguity, no symmetry. This was a massacre perpetrated by monsters for whom killing Jews is seen as a religious duty. Anyone who refuses to recognise this self-evident truth must be suspected of being anti-semitic or of holding the opinion that Jewish lives don't really matter. One can have views about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, who is the oppressed and who is the oppressor, who is in the right and who is in the wrong; that is a legitimate discussion.

The massacre of 7th October 2023 has nothing to do with this conflict. The massacre was carried out by monsters who say that they represent the Palestinians, but use them as human shields, have murdered them by the thousands over the years they have been in power in Gaza, have no compunction or mercy for anyone who does not adopt their distorted religious ideology. Israel's military action in Gaza is targeting the terrorists, not civilians, and might allow the Palestinians living there to begin anew without fear of being murdered, imprisoned or dictated to by the Hamas or Islamic Jihad. Hamas and Islamic Jihad are ISIS. They are against anyone and everything that does not conform with their radical and sick interpretation of Islam.

…there can be no question about the facts or alternative narratives.
Close to 1,400 Israeli civilians were massacred by the butchers from Gaza and almost 240 more are now being held hostage in Gaza, including babies, children and the elderly. Those are the facts. That is the truth, the whole truth, the only truth. (All emphases are mine)

I am afraid that Professor Hames’s statement is far from, “The truth, the whole truth, the only truth.” Some of it is indeed true, some of it is partially true, some of it is “alternative narrative” and the rest is anything but true. Time does not allow for a response to each individual claim. I shall deal with only the most egregious.

Hamas committed the massacre, “because it is their obligation according to Article Seven of the Hamas Covenant from 1988.” The obligation, as stated in Article Seven, reads as follows:

The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews.

By now many readers will recognise this as Islam’s notorious genocide hadith, the one that the eminent academic moderate Muslim, Sheikh Dr Yasir Qadhi, assured us is “predictive, not prescriptive.” It is true that the genocide hadith appears in Article Seven of the Hamas Covenant, but it appears there because it appears in the Islamic holy texts. The Covenant itself tells its readers the source: “The Prophet said, …related by Al-Bukhari and Muslim,” which can be found at Sahih Muslim 6985. One should hope that an academic of Professor Hames’s stature will have consulted the original sources, especially as he is a historian of religious thought.

One obfuscation leads quickly to another: “This was a massacre perpetrated by monsters for whom killing Jews is seen as a religious duty.” There is no way of interpreting the genocide hadith so it comes out as not a religious duty. A learned sheikh, someone more qualified in matters of Islam than Prof. Hames, has tried, specifically to dupe the kufaar, and failed. The genocide hadith is nothing but an explicit instruction to Muslims to exterminate the Jews on pain of forfeiting the Afterlife and their entry to Paradise. Muslims understand it exactly that way, and act on it exactly that way, otherwise what would be the point of spending your entire life being Muslim? The Palestinian Authority did its citizens the kind service of reminding them of this hadith, lest they miss the opportunity to partake in the consummation of all things that was clearly at hand.

Professor Hames describes his obfuscations as “self-evident truth” and threatens “anyone who refuses to recognise this” with suspicion of “being anti-semitic or of holding the opinion that Jewish lives don't really matter.” Well, I refuse to recognise these claims as truths, and I take the strongest exception to being labelled an anti-Semite, or someone who holds Jewish lives not to matter. Academics should hold themselves to higher standards than this.

Professor Hames insists that there must be no “alternative narratives,” yet peddles one himself: “One can have views about… who is the oppressed and who is the oppressor,” an ahistorical, illogical and manipulative narrative deliberately constructed in the early twentieth century as part of the postmodernist degradation of thought. A historian of religious thought must surely know this.

Professor Hames makes the arbitrary assertion that “The massacre of 7th October 2023 has nothing to do with this [Palestinian-Israeli] conflict,” when it has everything to do with it. To Muslims, “the best of people” representing “the perfect religion” delivered by “the Final Messenger,” a Jewish state is not even a concept; it is contrary to the natural order of things, because it negates the finality, and hence the perfection, of Islam. It means “the sons of apes and pigs” presuming to raise themselves to the level of “the best of people,” by ruling, something that only Muslims are entitled to do, anywhere on earth. The very idea of Israel is intolerable, and an entire people would have to be invented whose sole raison d’être would have to be the correcting of this abomination, hence the manufacture of the Palestinian nation with its perverse identity: the negation of Jews.[1]

The Palestinians are Islam distilled down to its pure essence: kill Jews. Just as Islam is antithetical to Judaism, so Muslims are antithetical to Jews and Palestinians antithetical to Israelis. One of them has to go, and for 1400 years, Muslims have been trying to solve that antithesis in their favour, by killing Jews, an effort urgently intensified after 1948. The Palestinians are those whom Arab Muslims set aside to sacrifice “in the cause of Allah,” so the rest of them may get on with the modern business of finding their place in this world. Consequently, to the Arabs in general, the Palestinians are both dispensable and indispensable. Truth is truth, and it ill behove anyone, most of all an academic, to run away from it and seek refuge in more comfortable alternative narratives.

1400 people were massacred, over 4,000 maimed in failed attempted killings, almost 250 people were taken captive, and Professor Hames is concerned with “legitimate discussion” of the conflict. “The massacre of 7th October 2023” is not a “legitimate discussion” since it “has nothing to do with this conflict.” "Monsters" perpetrated the massacre and that's it. The monsters “say that they” represent the Palestinians, an intimation of falsehood already addressed above. For those who think they would help the Palestinians “start anew” with freedom and prosperity in their very own Singapore-on-the-Med, the Covenant offers its answer straight from the Islamic holy texts, in this case a hadith narrated in al-Bukhari, Muslim, al-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah:

The bond of one day for the sake of Allah is better than the world and whatever there is on it. The place of one's whip in Paradise is far better than the world and whatever there is on it. A worshipper's going and coming in the service of Allah is better than the world and whatever there is on it.

Hamas uses the Palestinians “as human shields,” is only partially true, since many are proud to die “in the cause of Allah” and often refuse to get themselves out of harm’s way, no matter how hard the IDF tries to warn them to get to safety. Again, the Covenant offers the Islamic holy texts to explain why Palestinians would rather die shielding a fighter, than live to gain benefit in this world. The Covenant quotes a hadith in al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu-Dawood and al-Tirmidhi, “Whosoever mobilises a fighter for the sake of Allah is himself a fighter. Whosoever supports the relatives of a fighter, he himself is a fighter.”

Note also the inappropriateness of the Western concept of “collective punishment.” There is no such thing as collective punishment where the social unit is not the individual, as in this case, the family. In such a society, punishment that actually works is punishment that targets the family. Punishing an individual has no meaning, and could even enhance the family's social stature, encouraging further crime in the hope of such familial elevation.

Hamas has “murdered them [Palestinians] by the thousands over the years they have been in power in Gaza.” This might well be true—Hamas has an appalling human rights track record—but Palestinians will put up with it for as long as Hamas attacks Israel and kills Jews. Should Hamas ever stop killing Jews, they will no longer represent the Palestinians, for the Palestinians are jihad made flesh, with all the gory literalness that that entails.

The only way for Palestinians to escape their accursed fate of existing for the sole and specific purpose of killing Jews, a fate no other nation suffers, is to cease to be Palestinian, and the only way to accomplish that is by ceasing to be Muslim (the best way for a Palestinian to pay back Islam for what it has done to them, is to convert to Judaism). The inexorable conclusion is that it is not possible to support the “Palestinian cause” and not be a Jew-hater, whether wittingly or unwittingly. Such a conclusion should be easy for a serious historian of religious thought to arrive at. One who dabbles in “oppressed groups” and “oppressor groups” is not serious, and what they have to say is of very little value.

Article Five of the Hamas Covenant states the following Muslim Brotherhood precept:

By adopting Islam as its way of life, the Movement goes back to the time of the birth of the Islamic message, of the righteous ancestor, for Allah is its target, the Prophet is its example and the Koran is its constitution. Its extent in place is anywhere that there are Moslems who embrace Islam as their way of life everywhere in the globe. This being so, it extends to the depth of the earth and reaches out to the heaven.

Hamas is quite clear: it exists to take the entire world back to the conditions of Late-Antiquity, when hordes of barbarians, nomadic Arabs amongst them, ravaged the frontiers of civilisation. Of course Hamas has “no compunction or mercy for anyone” but themselves. That is how barbarism works. Yet it is quite wrong to assert, as Professor Hames does, that Hamas withhold their tenderness from whoever rejects “their distorted religious ideology,” or “their radical and sick interpretation of Islam,” without offering us any description of a moderate and healthy interpretation of Islam. This unstated fantasy Islam is of a piece with “Islamic fundamentalism”, “Islamism”, “radical Islam”, “extremist Islam”, “political Islam”, “jihadism”, etc., etc., and all the other attempts to distance Islam from its own barbarism and the barbarism of its votaries. All of this, in turn, serves to preserve the “innocence” of Muslims (as opposed to “Islamists”) as a comfort to the civilised mind for which the reality of barbarians in our midst is simply too ghastly to contemplate.

The Hamas Covenant directly quotes no fewer than thirty-seven verses from the Qur’an. The Preamble, in which Hamas puts itself forward as the one who will save the Islamic world, and Articles 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 22, 23, 24, 25, 27, 29, 31, 32, 33, 34 and 36 are each based directly on specific quoted verses from the Qur’an, several on more than one. Articles 7, 15 and 30 are based on specific hadith, either exclusively or along with Qur’an verses.

So many times do we hear Jews say they are hated or killed “just because we are Jews.” We heard it from Professor Chaim Hames ten days ago. We heard it again today from Ronn Torossian.  If being Jewish were the cause of such killing, then all non-Jews would have an impulse to kill Jews, which is obviously not the case. Such an impulse occurs only to those with a hatred for Jews. Furthermore, while most who fall victim to Jew-hatred are Jews, those who resemble Jews, those who support Jews, and those who refuse to join in the hatred of Jews not infrequently also fall victim to Jew hatred. The cause of Jew-killing has nothing to do with being Jewish and everything to do with Jew-hatred. To say otherwise is to say that Jews would still be killed, even if there were no Jew-hatred. To lament that they hate us or they kill us “because we are Jews” is to beg for tolerance, is to say “we can’t help being Jews; don’t blame us for it,” is to internalise the principle that there is something wrong with being Jewish. This is the broken soul of the dhimmi speaking, the soul bereft of chaim, the soul bereft of hadar. This is the soul of the Jew who will defend the right of his killer to live. This is the soul of the Jew who will be concerned about “humanitarian corridors” for Palestinian “civilians” in Gaza in the full knowledge that they are nothing but escape routes for Jew-killers under Jewish protection.

If 7 October has taught us anything, it is that reality does not go away just because you choose to bury your head in the sand. Tragically, some of the heads now buried in the sand never chose to be there. Jewish wilful obfuscation of Islam leads to Jewish ignorance of Islam, the most serious problem facing Zionism, and it is not even recognised as a problem.

Notes:

  1. Although the "Palestinians" as currently understood were manufactured by the KGB in the 1960s, the jihad function that they came to fulfil had already been identified by Hassan el-Banna, Supreme Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood, in the 1940s, during the great cross-pollination between Islam and Nazism.
