"This Jew does not have to be part of it."

Editorial note: A few days ago, Murtadd to Human published “The Judgement of Doha: steadfast means steadfast; genocide is not required”, accusing those Western liberals who have abandoned Israel and the Jewish people of having abandoned their humanity and ethics in thrall to a monstrous, barbaric cult, and feel themselves in a virtuous condition. The only thing progressive about the progressive movement is the progressive decline of its adherents. In this cognitive and ethical decline, when allegiance to the mad crowd is everything, truth is the major casualty, but it is not the only one. Another victim is friendship, something that many can attest to from painful personal experience. One such is my Jewish friend Arnold (not his real name), whose recent severance from some of his long-standing German friends raises chilling spectres. He shares his parting letter. Names have been altered.

Hi Hanna,

Your call to me in which you decided to break our 22-year friendship was disappointing, but not really surprising.

I was not going to reply, but changed my mind.

My birthday greeting to Markus a month ago when I was in Italy, by the way, did not receive the courtesy of a reply.

Our Telefonat Wednesday night occurred on the first anniversary of the Hezbollah (Hamas ally) firing a missile into northern Israel at Druze ten-year-old boys and girls playing football. A dozen kids were killed. But you never commented on that when it happened. Or, when 100,000 residents in northern Israel were homeless for 2 years from Hezbollah rockets, you had nothing to say.

In fact, despite your "Nie wieder ist jetzt," as you said last time we socialised in Altona, it was of course an empty slogan.

On 7 October, 1500 Israelis were murdered when Hamas invaded without provocation. They were burnt alive, beheaded, babies sliced in half and also baked in ovens and women gang-raped in front of their children and husbands. One of the first was German teenager Shani Lauk, who had her pelvis broken in the ordeal. Then murdered. Then beheaded. Some of the rape victims had nails hammered into their vaginas or guns stuck into their vaginas and shot. The Gazans videoed their horrific monstrosities with enthusiasm. Thousands of Gazan civilians cheered as live and dead bodies were paraded in Gazan streets, not like the Germans 80 years ago, who tried to hide their crimes.

There was never any comment from you and Markus. Ever. Never a comment of shock, empathy or asking if my friends and family were okay. And from the German government, no attempt to get the other German Jews out. Only advice [to Israel, ed.] to exercise restraint.

A day after this horror happened, 3000 Muslims stood on the steps of the Sydney Opera House chanting "Fuck the Jews! Gas the Jews!"

Again you missed your “Nie wieder” moment! Not a word of shock or support! Also not from the German Government.

This was three weeks before the war started. And when it started, you found your voices but not with the victims.

Should I have been surprised? No.

Not a word from Markus—but he did get angry, as he did every year, when he called to ask about Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest—what upsets him was that Israel participates despite not being in Europe. Never a word about the horrific monsters, nor the hysterical antisemitism sweeping Europe and here too. Just his anger that Israel is not more isolated. Again showing his malice and ignorance as he always does—the rules are about membership of the EBA, European Broadcasting Authority, not geography. But why bother with the facts?

From the start I always knew Markus had a Jewish problem. He said many years ago it would make no difference to him if Israel was wiped out by an Iranian nuclear bomb. He also claimed he never heard of the Holocaust until he was 30 years old!

The last time I invited you for Shabbat dinner, Markus showed his disrespect by refusing to stand and cover his head when we lit the candles and blessed the wine and bread. Everyone else stood for the 2 minutes. Markus made a point of being the only one to advertise his Jewish problem. And made a spectacle of it which everyone noticed. Perhaps you never wondered why I never invited you for Shabbat dinner again?

Markus has always been that way. On good days he is patronising, explaining what I can/cannot eat and on bad days he parrots misguided anti-Israel and anti-Jewish propaganda. He always mentions “Jewish Zelensky”. Not sure why that is important. Being a Jew seems to be an issue for him.

Israel defending itself in a horrific war it never wanted or started is an affront to people with a Jewish problem. The tsunami of Judenhass sweeping Europe, including "Nie wieder" Germany and Australia are out of control. Berlin alone recorded, according to the government, nine attacks against Jews per day, but likely closer to 30 per day, they admit. Never any concern from you.

Never have either of you asked how I am managing here when this Albanese regime has done nothing to stop the attacks on Jews, (I myself saw a Jewish man walking with his kids knocked down unprovoked on a pavement in Carlisle Street). Nor have you shown any empathy for boycotted artists, academics and businesses. Jewish cafés have been vandalised and the people inside attacked while eating. When I told you that Australia now is not the same country I came to, you showed no understanding, but Markus said there was no difference for him. No sign of "Nie wieder" expressions!

My friend Stefan in Berlin, who is not Jewish, teaches Jiddisch at the TU-Berlin. Twice he had his office broken into and trashed. He reported it to the university. They stopped his course. Problem solved! [Die Säuberung 2.0, ed.]

In Australia, the tsunami of Jew hatred/assaults has not resulted in arrests.

The media are a disgrace. Fake news, fake photos and fake reports from the Hamas-controlled so-called "Gaza Ministry of Health," wherever/whatever that is!!! Perhaps next door to the Hitler Shop (yes there is one) in Gaza.

I have never seen any reports/interviews on TV from Col. Richard Kemp, former commander of the British Forces in Afghanistan, who went to Gaza many times to investigate, where he didn’t say the opposite of what BBC, CNN, DW, ARD, ZDF, etc. report. ALL their "information" comes from Hamas.

And then Prof. John Spencer, a world-renowned authority on urban warfare, also visited Gaza many times to investigate. But his reports have never been shown on the modern versions of Völkischer Beobachter (for that is what they are). His investigations are very different from the hysterical, manipulated media reports.

Happily the SZ and Bild have finally shown that the photos of the "starving" children are mostly fake. There are horrible photos of kids, but many have pre-existing genetic disorders—40% of Gazans marry their cousins. The mothers standing over them and their other kids standing there too, look well-fed. The photos are also photoshopped, some taken not in Gaza but in Yemen. Some are AI-generated. Also during the war, Israel supplied polio vaccines and vaccinated 94% of Gazan children. Some children were taken to Israel for treatment. Some "genocide!" Israel has also supplied 100,000,000 meals to its murderous enemy since the war started. I never heard the Germans and the Allies feeding each other during World War 2.

Then we had the Sydney Harbour Bridge March, which you probably supported. I never heard of a "peace" march with posters of Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei holding a rifle. He calls each week for the destruction of Israel. Also a swastika superimposed on an Israeli flag, and Netanyahu with a Hitler moustache. and people calling for Israel's destruction. Missing from the "peace" march were Yemen, Sudan (with child rape and 500,000 killed), Ukraine, Nigeria, Congo, etc. You know as I do, it was not a "peace" march as the media and this Australian Government pretended, but an antisemitic hate event. And this inspired you!

And a few months ago, Adam Bandt, the former Greens leader, also with a German background, said in our Parliament that the weekly demonstrations will continue until "Israel is dismantled." No “Nie wieder” pushback from you.

In Germany, we had Die Grünen with the likes of Baerbock as Foreign Minister. Most of the grandparents of these politicians were Nazis and profited a lot, like von der Leyen.

A new "peace" boat about to sail to Gaza has Marlene Engelmann on board. She inherited hundreds of millions of Euros from her family business that supplied Zyklon B gas to the death camps. My mother's first husband, Alfred, was one of the consumers of Engelmann's product in Auschwitz.

You probably don't know that [Baldur] Springmann and [Werner] Vogel, who founded the Greens in Germany, were former SS members. [Werner Vogel was also a paedophile, ed.] The apple does not fall far from the tree.

Just as Gazans have a 40% marriage rate to cousins and with it serious congenital disorders, Europe, including Germany, has a birth defect called antisemitism. Jew-hatred is in their mother's milk, even though most Europeans and Germans never met a Jew in their life.

Near the end of the Second World War, Germany's Reichsbahn was decimated and almost non-existent. The Red Army was approaching from the East towards Germany. Germany had a choice to send soldiers by train to the East to stop the Soviets, or use the limited trains to send 400,000 Hungarian Jews to Auschwitz. They couldn't do both. The decision was to send the Jews to their deaths.

When you have a country that hates Jews more than it loves itself, that is a serious indication of its culture [echoing the Muslim, “We love death more than you love life,” ed.].

And many like Markus, do not know that they do not know, but are examples of Dunning-Kruger Syndrome.

I, as a Jew, reached out to you as I have to other Germans. You never had Jewish friends. I did not need to reach out. I don't think you ever made an effort to meet Jews. You grew up in a culture where your parents and friends were Nazis. They supported Hitler, the biggest mass murderer in history [Mao Zedong, ed.]. I always treated you with respect and was empathic with you when you cared deeply for your mother, even though you said she always loved Hitler, until she died a few years ago. I never mentioned that and understood how difficult it was for you.

I know that you made some effort, unlike Markus who still does not get it, that I am not a Jew in 1933 Germany when I could be spoken to with contempt and treated with disrespect. Those days are over!

You probably respect Aboriginals, as I do. But you have different sentiments for the indigenous people of Israel. My gene pool goes back 4000 years and includes Moses, David, Jesus, Mendelssohn, Mahler, Einstein and many others. And yours?

My Jewish culture is the basis of western civilisation. Hitler hated the idea that Jews came up with the concept of "conscience"—he said so himself—and the idea that we are all made in God's image regardless of race or religion was a strange concept to him and others.

You have never been to Israel and Markus was not even interested to know more about it, just to despise.

The enthusiastic crowds eighty years ago chanting “Die Juden sind unser Unglück” has morphed into present times. And of course “Die Juden sind immer am Schuld”.

You and Markus lost your “Nie wieder” moment many times, especially with your silence about vulgar Jew hatred by "Gas the Jews" crowds and the destruction of a Melbourne synagogue, smashing Jewish businesses, vandalising Jewish schools, assaulting Jewish school children, boycotts of Jewish artists, etc. Sounds like 1933! But without the “Nie wieder” backlash.

Instead you embraced Palestinianism, a Nazi terror cult that was invented in Moscow 1964 in the Cold War. There NEVER was a country called Palestine! Jerusalem is never mentioned once in the Qur’an! There never was a people called "Palestinians." And of course never a "Palestinian" language, king or president or archeological artefacts!

But why let facts get in the way of lies, when these lies suit your Jew-hating agenda?

I reached out to you in kindness and for you it should have been a privilege to have a Jewish friend, given your history. But it all passed you by, especially when we are experiencing our worst life/death struggle since the Holocaust. “Nie wieder” was nothing but empty words. Shame!

I have been very patient with Markus, but I am not the kind of Jew that has endless patience with ignorant Jew-despising people.

Antisemitism is the socialism of fools, as was said in Vienna 120 years ago. How true!

I do not need to hear from you again. I wish you peace and hope you will be blessed with good health; I am also happy that we were supportive of each other when we had serious health issues. That is how it should have been and that way it should have stayed, with “Nie wieder” being just that, when the Jew-hating challenges became part of everyday life. Perhaps one day Markus, especially, will understand that antisemitism is an irrational, toxic, psychological problem.

This Jew does not have to be part of it.
