75 years of drawing jihad warfare away from the rest of us

Murtadd to Human takes the opportunity of the 75th anniversary of the re-founding of Israel to republish our 2021 analysis of the significance of the IDF for non-Muslims outside Israel, especially in the West, but increasingly in non-Muslim areas bordering Muslim areas, be they domestically or internationally.

Thank God for the IDF

For sheer firepower, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) rank second in the Middle East only to NATO member Turkey. In cyberwarfare, no Middle Eastern power comes even close to Israel. As for Israel’s Arab neighbours, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria, some or all, of whom together attacked Israel in 1948, 1967 and 1973, each time suffered humiliating defeats. The Israeli economy generates an annual GDP per capita of over US$44K, while PA-controlled Judea and Samaria, and Hamas-controlled Gaza, average US$1.4K. Israel has the capacity to, quite literally, flatten all "Palestinian"-controlled areas to the ground in a matter of hours. The Palestinians attack Jews with knives and fire rockets into Jewish homes, believing they can win. When Israel responds, they are outraged.

Astronomers explain how Jupiter is the great defender of the solar system, and the moon that of the Earth. Standing guard in the outer regions, bodies of all kinds from interstellar space head for the sun and the relatively densely-packed inner solar system, where space is more crowded and there is increased chance of these objects bombarding the earth. But they first have to get past Jupiter. During the early solar system, it was an onslaught, with much of it getting through to the inner solar system where they frequently smashed into planets that got in the way, such as the earth. Jupiter is the great sentinel that takes all the hits it can, thereby keeping us safe.

Islam is a curse that returns from time to time to hurtle towards civilisation with one sole aim: to obliterate it. Its most recent return was alongside the other great totalitarianism of the last century, Nazism and Communism, both of which, at different times, it formed alliances with.

The likes of Abu Ala Maududi, Hassan Al-Banna, founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, and Sayyid Qutb (apparently a Muslim may shave his beard if to resemble a genocidal maniac with an interesting project you can get behind), among others, gave the world its current round of jihad mass murder in the wake of the demise of the Ottoman Empire. Like all previous Muslim onslaughts on civilisation in the religion’s 1400-year bloody history, it has to overcome “Rome”, today’s United States and Western Europe, in order to conquer and dominate the world. That is what Allah expects of Muslims, as communicated in the Qur’an. The Qur’an is perfect; it does not change, and it is a grave sin to attempt to change it.

Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued,” (Qur’an 9:29).

Fight until there is no more oppression [of and amongst Muslims, AP], and all religion is for Allah alone,” (Qur’an 2:193).

This time around, with so much civilising influence on Muslims, those who will carry out the jihad imperative have to do some work to counter the corrupting influence of civilisation on the Muslims. ISIS rose to the challenge. In its magazine Rumiyah, Rome, the brothers explain:

The overall objective of any just terror operation is to bring horror and misery to the enemies of Allah, and to remind them that their efforts to wage war against Islam and the Muslims will only lead to more and more mujahidin appearing in their very midst, ready to strike them mercilessly on their own soil. So, “Let them find harshness in you” (At-Tawbah 123 [Qur’an 9:123]). And remember that Allah’s Messenger said, “Never shall the kafir and his killer be united in the Fire” (Reported [in a hadith, AP] by Muslim from Abu Hurayrah).

What does it mean to "Let then find harshness in you"? Does it mean never greet them? It does. Does it mean extort money from them? It does. Does it mean crucify them? It does. Does it mean behead them? It does. Does it mean chop off their hands and feet? It does. Does it mean enslave them? It does. Does it mean rape them? It does. Does it mean gauge out their eyes and cut out their tongues? It certainly does. It also means this (WARNING: seriously disturbing). These are the Muslims who do as the Qur'an commands and do as Muhammad did. In them, the human is dead, and they are the closest to Allah. All prattle about "moderate" Muslims and "not all Muslims" and "Islamic reform" is not only irrelevant, but suicidal distractions, and so immoral.

So back to Rumiyah, just like the word "harshness", perhaps the meaning of the whole commandment isn't quite clear, as in, not specific enough for the squeamish modern Muslim, "imbeciles and weaklings, never real Muslims in the first place," according to the most strident Muslim proselytisers. Some further pep talk might be called for. The ISIS philosophers oblige:

Many people are often squeamish at the thought of plunging a sharp object into another person’s flesh. It is a discomfort caused by the untamed, inherent dislike for pain and death, especially after ‘modernization’ distanced males from partaking in the slaughtering of livestock for food and striking the enemy in war.

It took the United States military and a leader undeterred by pressure to preemptively submit, to be honest about Islam and take down its most authentic jihad army we have seen so far. Those so concerned with respecting Islam and the Qur'an, should read these words from the people depicted in the horrible video above:

When mentioning the obligation of jihad for His cause, Allah indicated that some people would have reservations towards this noble commandment. He said, “Fighting has been enjoined upon you while it contains that which you dislike” (Al-Baqarah 216 [Qur’an 2:216]). He then reminded the believers to place their trust in Him, by deferring to His infinite wisdom instead of relying upon their limited knowledge. “But perhaps you dislike a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah knows, while you know not” (Al-Baqarah 216). He further taught them that if it were not for jihad, the world would be filled with corruption. “And if it were not for Allah curbing people by means of others, the earth would become corrupt, but Allah has much bounty for the creation” (Al-Baqarah 251).

Rumiyah is the Qur’an made flesh.

All religion for Allah alone, that is, the obliteration of civilisation, could easily have occurred by now, especially after the Second World War, with Europe in ruins, even with the Muslims denied the industrial support of the Nazis. The field was wide open for them to sweep through and consummate Allah’s commandment, but for their primitive culture and lack of industry. The Muslims could not take advantage of the United States’ preoccupation with the other great totalitarian distraction of the day, the Soviet Union. This inability would not have stopped them, though. Allah commands Muslims to “Fight those who believe not in Allah and the Last Day,” and a decimated Europe lay open for the taking, even with the sword and on horseback, just as in those Blessed Days.

But then, to the utter frustration and disappointment of the foremost Islamic revivalists, defeat was snatched from the jaws of victory. Israel was re-established in 1948, on "Muslim land", and right in the midst of what was to be the future world caliphate. It was an affront that called for an immediate and comprehensive response. "Rome" would have to wait, while jihad turned its attention to the Jewish "invasion". For the following seven-and-a-bit decades, Israel and the Jewish people bore the brunt of "Kill them wherever you find them". The Israeli security services and the Israel Defense Forces stood between their people and another Holocaust, for that is exactly what the Qur'an and the hadith enjoin.

But more to the point here is that the aim of jihad is the subjugation of "Rome", the heart of civilisation, today's Europe and the United States. Since its re-establishment, Israel has been the Jupiter that takes the brunt of jihad against our civilisation. The arrival of Al-Qaida signalled a renewed jihad focused directly on Rome, leaving Israel to the jihad in the region, now prosecuted by highly-organised and well-equipped terrorist armies backed by fully-fledged Islamic states, and of course the ummah at large. If Israel goes, all Jews everywhere will be attacked, and all jihad will be concentrated on "Rome".

If we in the West were to acknowledge our debt to the IDF, then every Western taxpayer would gladly be funding that most human and most selfless of fighting forces, the Israel Defense Forces. Instead, so depraved have the free people of the world become, so utterly bereft of morals, that they fund the jihad against Israel. Every penny given toward the "Palestinians" is a penny towards another kafir's death. The EU and the government of the United States are knowingly paying vast jihad armies to destroy the United States and Europe, and to visit upon their peoples the horrors the Qur'an enjoins. And now, with two dhimmi Joes leading a rapidly eroding free world, our survival as a civilisation comes down to the IDF, a handful of small nations who will not submit, and a few voices in the wilderness unable to be dishonest.

Palestinian terrorists know that the IDF has the capacity to destroy them utterly. When the IDF holds back from destroying them, they declare victory. Many accuse them of lying, of engaging in propaganda, or of being delusional. Those who say these things fail to understand the Muslim mind. The Palestinians celebrating in the streets are right that they have won, not only because the IDF leaves them able to regroup, rearm and return to kill more Jews, time after time after time. They are right for a more fundamental reason that most commentators seem to miss.

To Muslims, the fact that the IDF does not destroy their enemies utterly, does not expel all Palestinians and raze Gaza to the ground, is not because they will not, but because they cannot. The IDF's humanity and restraint emboldens their enemies. They see in it Allah's angelic armies tying the hands of their enemies, as he promises in the Muslims' holy texts. When the IDF takes extra-special care not to harm civilians, it is Allah's decree that those civilians should not yet die. Their work in this life, fighting in the cause of Allah, is not yet done. So no matter what their death toll, one surviving Palestinian means victory, one dead Jew means a great victory. “We love death more than you love life,” they boast. Just because we cannot comprehend such a mind does not mean that they are not serious.

The IDF's humanity is also its Achilles heel. Its strength for war is its weakness for peace. Israeli restraint convinces the Palestinians, Iran, Turkey, Pakistan and the entire ummah that they, that is Muslims, are winning, for in the eyes of Muslims, what else is war for, but to destroy your enemy utterly? To the Muslim mind, the IDF failing to destroy their mortal enemy in war after war, has lost time after time after time. Certainly it is humiliating for what is supposedly the great Muslim armies to be routed on the fields of battle in wars that they had started, but that only means that they'll be back for they are still Muslims.

At some point, if Israel does not want to exhaust its people's already degraded psychological capacity to fight and endure the deprivations of war, their last chance will be to stand beside Krishna on the plains of Kurukshetra and see clearly that the war they have been fighting so hard not to fight, is the war they are going to have to fight. It will be a terrible war, and there are not many with the clarity of mind and strength of character to lead it.

In the immediate term, not extirpating Hamas guarantees that more Jews will die. The IDF must this time destroy Hamas utterly, not just degrade its capacity for war. To do anything less is to give them victory, and they will be right to celebrate in the streets, for they will have won, yet again. In the meantime we, protected by the IDF to still be living in a civilised world, should say loudly and clearly, then quietly and pensively, Thank God for the IDF.
