Welcome to Murtadd Academy

Twenty things you might not know about Islam and Muslims:

  1. Central to the Islamic definition of a Muslim is that a Muslim is permanently at war with non-Muslims.
  2. A Muslim’s first allegiance, always, is to Islam; their second is to Muslims; only after that does allegiance to a country become a possibility.
  3. Equality with non-Muslims is intolerable to Muslims.
  4. It is forbidden for Muslims to befriend non-Muslims, especially Christians and Jews.
  5. A Muslim is obligated either: a. to kill and be killed in the cause of Allah, or b. to assist those who kill and are killed in the cause of Allah; the cause of Allah is the violent subjugation of the entire world to Islam.
  6. Every mosque is a military facility.
  7. Muslims praying or wearing hijabs on Western streets are carrying out acts of war.
  8. To Muslims, hating, lying to, deceiving, stealing from, assaulting, raping, enslaving and killing non-Muslims are all deeds pleasing to Allah and therefore holy.
  9. There are no human rights in Islam; e.g., it is legal for parents to kill their children.
  10. Slavery is not only legal in Islam, it is incentivised.
  11. If a non-Muslim country permits Muslims to practise a single part of Islam, then Muslims in that country are obligated to behave as if they were in a Muslim country.
  12. If a non-Muslim country prohibits Muslims from practising Islam at all, then Muslims in such a country are obligated to emigrate from that country to one where they can practise Islam.
  13. Any contract, promise, agreement, treaty, etc., between a non-Muslim and a Muslim is obligatory only on the non-Muslim; for the Muslim, honouring the agreement is optional.
  14. In a legal dispute between a Muslim and a non-Muslim, it is forbidden for the non-Muslim to defend himself in court; the judge is obligated to deal leniently with the Muslim and harshly with the non-Muslim.
  15. Muslims consider every child to be born Muslim, and therefore something they are entitled to lay claim to.
  16. A Muslim husband is obligated to hate his non-Muslim wife.
  17. Only a Muslim husband can initiate divorce (by simply declaring her divorced); a wife must petition a Shari’a Court (that usually pressures her to return to her husband).
  18. If a divorced Muslim man wishes to remarry his divorced wife ("take her back"), another man must first marry her and have sex with her, and only after this obligatory husband divorces her, may the original husband remarry her. Shari'a makes no mention of her wishes.
  19. It is forbidden for lay Muslims to study Islam by themselves. They are strongly discouraged from asking questions, but if they must, then it is obligatory on them to always ask a sheikh.
  20. Without lies, ignorance and violence, Islam disintegrates.

Learn why Muslims behave towards you and your society the way they do. Understand their words and actions in a broader context. Recognise when Muslims intend you to understand one thing when they actually mean another. Prepare to respond effectively to da’wah.

About Murtadd Academy

Murtadd Academy is a friendly place for talking about two unfriendly topics: Islam and Muslims, and for learning practical ways of slowing down and reversing the changes that have been imposed on us, our norms and our lifestyles to advance the cause of Islam, presented as "making Muslims feel at home". Examples abound: refraining from eating in the presence of Muslims during their fasting month, to tolerating their loudspeakers waking everyone because it is their time to pray. Real flesh and blood people spreading Islam do actual harm to real flesh and blood people.

I am a retired Assistant Professor who left Islam 46 years ago, having grown up under Apartheid in South Africa, before moving to Europe as an adult. I have since lived and worked in scores of countries across five continents, and studied my former religion. Today I am able to bring a rich life experience, including many years of teaching, to these seminars, all of which I personally facilitate. See a recent interview here.

The format is a seminar, rather than a lecture. This means that while each session is facilitated, contributions of thoughts, ideas, questions and comments is encouraged and free discussion welcomed. The flow is guided, rather than rigid. Each Murtadd Academy seminar arises out of practical, everyday concerns and the challenges of addressing them.

We endeavour to draw out lessons for Europe, Australia, Israel and other regions/countries as seems opportune, as well as for Jews in general.

Sample seminar overview (excerpt)

Seminar 1: The myth of "moderate Muslims"

How often have you heard or read something disturbing about Islam or Muslims and said to yourself, "at least moderate Muslims are not like that" or "only a handful of extremists do that" or even the "not all Muslims..." preamble? In this seminar we explore why we respond to Muslims as we do and uncover what this reveals about us. How do Muslims take advantage of our responses to them and how can we change this state of affairs?

The outcome of this seminar is similar to that of learning a new language. After successful participation, you will begin to see and hear more and more of what has been around you all along. This increasing awareness alone will deepen your insights into what is going on, revisit what you already know and equip you to deal realistically, rather than idealistically, with Muslims, especially the moderate ones.

The myth of "moderate Muslims" is the first of 30 Introductory and 20 Advanced theme-based seminars you'll be able to sign up for on Murtadd to Human.

Future seminars include:

Why will Muslims never really debate?

The role of violence in Islam

What are jihad and da'wah, and why do I need to know about them?

Why the obsession with “Palestinians”?

Who is afraid of "Islamophobia"?

Can Islam be reformed?

What is “Islamism” and what are "Islamists"?

What happens when we "make Muslims feel at home"?

Is Islam “the fastest growing religion,” or is it rapidly dying from the inside?

Dear Anjuli Pandavar

I'm thrilled that you have decided to open an academy to share your knowledge and insights about the religion of "peace".

May God bless and protect you. You are a very courageous, honorable and intelligent person.

May you succeed with this wonderful project. As my granddaughter used to say: sharing is caring 😊.

A while ago, I have translated from Hebrew to English and anonymous presentation about the psychoanalysis of the religion of "peace".

I asked if you are interested to go over the material. I believe that it's very interesting and offers another perspective of Islam.

If you are interested, I can send it to you but it's not for publication only for knowledge.

Shabbat Shalom 🙏

Best Regards

Ben Dor A.
