Anjuli Pandavar to speak at the Australian Jewish Association
The two sides of jihad, and the Muslims on each side

Some come clean-cut, attired in smart suits, ever-so-charming and speak the local language with ease, while others sling AK-47s and cannot wait to launch their killing spree. Their targets' priority: to be very, very careful to always stress that not all Muslims are "extremists", not all Muslims rape and murder, not all Muslims lie and steal, because there are "peaceful, moderate" Muslims with a "moderate interpretation" of Islam, the ones we must all support, else the "extremists" win.

This is but one of the many misconceptions of Islam and Muslims, misconceptions that Muslims encourage and exploit to the full, both in Israel and in the West in general. Do such Westerners construct and insist on defending their fantasies for the benefit of their fine Muslim friends and colleagues, or do they do so for their own benefit?

In this talk I hope to show you that the fantasy of the "moderate Muslims" is so tenacious because the alternative is simply too shattering to contemplate. We will look at:

  1. The two kinds of lay Muslims and their complementary roles in jihad, which will bring us to...
  2. What is a Muslim, really?
  3. What is Islam, really?
  4. How does a Muslim relate to a non-Muslim, really?
  5. What does a Muslim do when he or she can no longer stomach any of this stuff?
  6. The Achilles heel of the Judeo-Christian tradition
  7. Now that we've already made so many mistakes, how do we save ourselves?

The above is not a list of topics, but of themes that I will weave in and out of as I talk about me early-life experience, what I have subsequently learnt (and continue to learn) about my former religion, how apostatising from Islam gave purpose to my life and how I am fulfilling that purpose, resolved to restore my humanity so I may recover from Islam.

The talk will draw heavily on official Islamic texts and proven historical and contemporary events, especially the attempted genocide of the Jews on 7 October 2023 and developments that followed, particularly the shocking Western capitulation to the bullying orthodoxies, and the readiness to expunge that horrific event from history. In a nutshell:

  1. Muslims are at war with you
  2. Muslims are here to destroy civilisation
  3. We must engage not only in kinetic, but also in psychological and ideological warfare
